Community SCALE's mission is to preserve the character and integrity of Raleigh's diverse neighborhoods.

Community SCALE will achieve its mission through leadership, education, advocacy, and the formation of creative partnerships to encourage development that, when it happens, respects the existing built environment, the natural environment, and the history of individual neighborhoods.

Below is a brief update on Raleigh SCALE's efforts to have *community-wide input and planning for infill and redevelopment*. The Raleigh SCALE committee
Is currently gathering data about the trend of commercial developers tearing down smaller affordable homes and replacing them with large out-of-scale speculative houses.

After our large Raleigh SCALE meeting 2 weeks ago, at which 8-10 Raleigh neighborhoods were represented, a working committee reviewed discussion held and notes taken at the meeting and developed some new goals and project ideas which we are working to implement. Soon the group will hold another meeting to provide updates  on their efforts and to ask you for specific help on exciting new projects.

In the meantime, we ask that you and anyone living in your household who is 18 years of age or older sign the *e-petition *and send it around to your friends and neighbors. Our goal is 500 signatures from neighborhoods throughout the city. We currently have 190 signatures from 36 different neighborhoods across Raleigh.

You can also find the link to the petition at communityscale.com

[Note: At the end of the petition process, a donation screen will appear. Please simply close that window when it appears, as it is not a donation to SCALE.]

We ask that people who share our concerns read and sign the online petition "Respect4Raleigh." There's room for comments on the site, if you would like to add your voice to the conversation. If you agree with what the petition says, please sign it as soon as possible. We must gather as many signatures as possible to plug this data into ongoing discussions with city officials. Please pass this along to anyone in the city who is concerned about this issue.

If you are concerned about displaying your name online - you may sign this petition so that it shows you as an "anonymous" signer. Raleigh SCALE organizers will be able to see your name and email address so that we can keep you up to date on our efforts, but online readers of the e-petition will only see you as "anonymous."
