Raleigh's Finest Helping
Out By Request
News from Christina Sanchez:
To follow up on our session with the officer at
last month's meeting, I got
in touch with an Officer Stallings and filed a Citizen's Request to have
the motorcycle police come out and monitor for speeding and noise on
Brooklyn and Clay as well as on Gaston between the hours of 7:30-8:00 a.m
and 2:30-3:30 p.m. (when traffic and noise related to the Broughton High
School students and motorists who use our neighborhood as a cut-through
seem to be the most disruptive). Officer Stallings also encouraged me and
other residents to call the police AT THE TIME when anything disruptive is
going on. (The more people that call, the more attention we will get.)
In addition, there is a new noise ordinance in
effect which makes it
illegal for anyone to be playing music that can be heard from a distance of
50 feet at ANY time during the day. Thanks so much.
Officer Stallings phone number is 807-5215.
