Kids from Cole Street Launching a Street Planting Campaign

The kids from Cole Street announced Sunday that they were looking for donations of plants, trees or cash to buy plants to beautify Cole Street during the period of reconstruction for the Glenwood Avenue Bridge.

They point out that during this time, Cole Street will experience even higher volumes of traffic, and they are determined to have a beautiful street for Raleigh residents to see as they pass through. They plan to plant trees and plants on curbs, in empty lots, and in front of individually-owned and rental property if requested.

An added result, they hope, will be to reduce the number of speeders that use the street, forcing motorists to "slow down and smell the roses"!
