IDEAS GENERATED BASED ON REVIEW DISCUSSION
1) Tour of Historic Homes: This is a great event for the neighborhood, and we want to keep making it better (and bigger). The consensus was not to open the tour on Friday night, but rather to use Friday night (and First Friday) for a focused marketing effort. This includes: placing Tour pamphlets throughout G-wood South restaurants and galleries on First Friday (and other potential downtown spots); asking homeowners to light homes on both Friday and Saturday nights; placing luminaries on G-wood Ave Friday and Saturday night with signs on both ends of the neighborhood to promote the Tour). We decided to forego on the trolley. We want to actively encourage neighbors to have decorations/lights up and on during the weekend of the Tour, and considered some sort of incentive for best decorated homes.

2) Pancake B-fast: We agreed that - let's be honest - what our neighborhood likes best is a great party! As such, we've decided to drop the breakfast in favor of a Spring Block Party. The east block of Devereux (which abuts the RR tracks) was one suggested location. BBQ, keg beer, music, street painting for the kids, white lights in the trees, the possibilities are endless!

3) Participation: The classic 80/20 rule is in effect in Glenwood-Brooklyn, as it is in nearly all social aspects of society. We had the right number of people to get HGBNA off and running (not too many, not too few). We also realize there are others in the hood who are willing to get more involved (as evidenced by the Fall Fling and the Voting Members), and that we need these people for the association to grow and prosper. As such, an important goal for this year will be to articulate how others can get involved, and to encourage them to do so.

4) Flyers: We feel that the monthly meeting flyers (while helpful) do not produce a great enough return given the effort that goes into them. As such, we decided to market the meetings in two ways: a) monthly email reminders, and b) to publish a quarterly newsletter/flyer-type document that includes upcoming meeting dates and programs, as well as other event information and news.

5) September "Open House." Dedicate the Sept. meeting to an open house for neighbors to browse around and learn about HGBNA and city services including (for example): HGBNA yearly calendar available; council/committee nomination and sign-up lists; Lynn Ruck on rain barrels; info on Historic tax credits; city college program.
