Community Affairs Committee: Phil Poe (Chair) was unable to attend the meeting, however, he did provide an update via phone: The Community Affairs Committee was to meet on Monday, May 12. Their mission is already posted on the website here.
They have received no feedback since the April meeting regarding issues to be looked at by their committee. Phil is working on setting up a meeting with NCDOT and the city of Raleigh to look at safety issues surrounding the construction on the Glenwood bridge, after several scary incidents were reported. There is also discussion surrounding the traffic lights as well as the street lights proposed for the bridge project, trying to get something similar to the lights now being installed in Glenwood South. The Liveable Streets initiatives was approved by the City Council, and is now in the detail design and funding phase. Phil also wanted to emphasize again the need to build strong relationships with other neighborhood associations, and with the City, as an important part of the Committee's mission, and also to ensure we have a voice within the community.

Communications Committee: Christina Sanchez (Chair) was unable to attend the meeting. No update.

Finance & Fundraising Committee: Mary Ann Turner (Chair) was unable to attend the meeting. No update. However, Jan related that we had a total of 21 neighbors come out to Glenwood-Brooklyn Night at Exploris on May 5th. All of those attending either paid their Voting Member dues that evening, or had already paid. Several new voting members have been added for this year, already.

The H.A.N.D.S. Truck Special Pickup (The "Pink Truck") is scheduled to be in our neighborhood on Thursday, May 22nd. See information elsewhere on the site about this.
