Jenkins Memorial Church

• Thomas Crowder in attendance and went over several points including the upcoming existence of the districtd.net website to keep the district better informed.
• Essentially, an easier-to-read version of the City’s site.
• 50.00 was received from Rachel Turner on behalf of the HANDS organization for the participation in the Oakwood Tour judging this past season.
• Many requests, if we get no other response, can be channeled through Mr. Crowder’s assistant, Donna Hale. Jan has her contact information.
• Topics discussed:
o Better Regulations
o Neighborhood Improvement Efforts
o Licensure for absentee landlords
- Up to 4 unrelated people permitted in a house currently
- Point is to make a landlord culpable for mismanagement
o South of Wade becoming a low-income area
o At the 40% + rental stage, neighborhoods begin to blight
• Upcoming Public Hearing on Fletcher Park- refer to homepage for link
• Parking issues discussed- no on street regulated parking. Possible cure is permit-parking, but not attractive to all.
• By citizen petition, we may be able to get permit parking, but other than that it’s self-patrolled. If anyone is a victim of vandalization, it should be immediately referred to the police.
• Discussed sending out a web-flyer or physical flyer for parking regulation enlightenment.
• Phil discussed having perhaps an interim solution for the mural
• Signage in the median discussed- no conclusions yet
• Discussed the similarity of the HGBNA font and the Boylan Heights font as relates to a ‘branding’ standpoint.
