Meeting was facilitated by Jeff Roberts and Chris Ernst
Agenda:
Election of Officers/Steering Committee

Fall Event
Fall Event- Sunday, October 21, 2001 from 2:00 to 6:00
PM in Fletcher Park, picnic pavilion
o Jill and Richard Averette checking of obtaining permits
for alcohol and will need an individual from steering committee
to go with Richard to city hall to obtain permit.
o Jill and Richard are also checking with food and
drink vendors for wholesale
prices are possible donations
Estimated cost for event is between $300 to $500. Both previous
associations
agreed to underwrite the cost. Several members made donations,
Frank Cross
and Peggy and Ernst Upchurch.
Donations will be requested at the event by those participating
in the event.
All are asked to sign up for soft drinks, chips, side dishes
or desserts
Children's play group to organize children's events
Adult entertainment to possibly include acoustic music by neighborhood
musicians and soft ball
5 gas grills are needed for cooking and cooks.
All are asked to sign up for any of the following committees
for event: set-up,
cooking, entertainment, clean-up
Cathy and LeAnne are doing the decorations and may need assistance
as well
Publicity/communications committee to produce flyers and distribute.
Include a reason for people to attend on the flyers was suggested

These decisions were made and agreed to by all who
were present...
Announcements:
o Phil Poe - shared concern regarding project proposed
for Glenwood South area at Johnson and Boylan. He will keep neighbors
informed through website.
o Marcea - vote on Tuesday. Remember New York - many
items are still needed by workers including workboots, shirts
and sweat pants, etc. The Red Cross is providing these items.
o LeAnne - shared having car slashed Sunday night[Monday
morning and information regarding installation of light on alley
by CP&L
o Peggy Upchurch - Jenkins will be holding a Halloween
Festival the night of Halloween for any parents and children who
would like to attend. Anyone who would like to participate or
help please contact Peggy.
